Yearbook Cover Contest

Calling all Bobcats! Pull out your paintbrushes, brush off your crayon box, and sharpen those drawing pencils—We're inviting ALL students to participate in the 2025/26 Yearbook Cover Contest.

2025-26 Theme: The Bobcat community decides!

Bobcats are awesome. Together, there is nothing we can't accomplish. Every day, we dream big, reach for the stars, and explore the unknown. Create a cover design representing your idea of what makes Blackwell Bobcats truly out of this world!

Submission Criteria:

Submission criteria and guidance will be announced to families in the Bobcat Bulletin. Guidelines will also be available on the PTSA website and as a take-home flyer for your student folders. Submissions should be delivered to Ms. Cherian on or before TBD

Selection Process:

The cover contest selection committee selects the top 12 finalists for class voting. Our selection committee will consist of three PTSA parent members, one staff representative, and one student leadership representative. Student covers will be evaluated on:

  • Creative representation of the theme (55%)
  • Attention to detail (35%)
  • Bobcat branding (10%)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use digital drawing programs?

A: Yes. All 2-D art forms are accepted, and students can use digital drawing programs (e.g., MS Paint, etc.) The goal is to showcase creativity! However, the artwork showcased should be original. Students will not be awarded higher scores for neatness or creativity simply for using stock illustrations or photography. For this reason, we advise against the use of stock photography & illustrations. However, if you do choose to us them, these assets should be creatively manipulated. A great example is the work of Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup or Marilyn Monroe screenprints. Warhol manipulated the photography of others to create something that was uniquely his point of view.

Q: Can I submit multiple entries?
A: Competition entries are limited to 1 per student to ensure an equitable evaluation process. Students can turn in multiple designs to showcase in our cover art gallery; however, only one cover design will be eligible for the competition. If students turn in multiples, they should note which one they want to submit for the competition.
