FAQ’s

Q: What does the $10 go towards?
A: Once we sell enough tickets to cover the cost of the event (carnival vendor, art supplies, prizes, etc.), the PTSA will use any remainder funds to support the school’s art docent program and staff grants. Based on the past 2 years attendance, we expect this event to meet the minimum budget required to put it on, but we encourage you to buy your tickets now so we can plan ahead.

Q: Can we bring non-Blackwell friends?

A:  Unfortunately, no, this event is exclusively for our K-5 current Blackwell students.

Q: What do I bring?

A: Bag for Trick or Treat Hallway & cash if you want to purchase from the snack stand.

Q: Is there a Haunted Hallway or anything scary?

A: No. This event is for all ages. Thank you for your feedback last year as we were able to reimagine Boo Fest this year and add in even more games and activities.

Q: Is there a wristband this year?

A: No. We will have a list of student names and purchased tickets at the event entrance.

Q: Will there be food on site?

A: We will have some grab and go snack options available for purchase, but there will be no food trucks this year as we will also be starting the event later in the evening. We recommend eating dinner before attending the event.

Q: If I drop off my student, can they enter without me?
A: No.  We will have volunteers at the event, but there is no supervision available.

Q: Can I bring my child in and then leave them?

A: No.  You are responsible for staying with your child at this event.  It is not a drop-off event.

Q: Are costumes required?

A: No, costumes are optional. All costumes must be family friendly. This is not a scary event. Leave masks and extremely spooky costumes at home, please.

Q: Is there a quiet space?

A: We will have a “chill room” on site.

Q: Do you offer free admissions?
A: If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact our school counselor and she will provide tickets directly. jfarrell@lwsd.org

Q: Do you need Volunteers?

A: YES!
We are looking for adults and students (grade 6 and above). There are only a limited number of student volunteer opportunities available for middle and high school Blackwell alumni.

Please have your student fill out the LWSD Student Volunteer Application and
